Lake District Pet Friendly Accommodation
When booking your holiday accommodation for youself and your pet, you to need to find out:
a) Is your pet allowed to sleep in your room?
b) Do you need to bring their bed with you, or will one be
provided?
c) How much will be charged per night for your animal?
d) Do you need to bring food for your animal, or is it
provided?
e) Is there an enclosed area or specific area to toilet on?
These are all important questions, because you do not want to arrive at your accommodation only to find that your animal is not allowed to stay with you, as this might distress your animal if its used to sleeping in the same room as you, or more importantly there is no garden or specified area for the animal to go to the toilet.
A point to remember is that pets prefer a steady lifestyle and that their daily routine will be disrupted when going on holiday. You should prepare yourself for a possible change in your pet's behaviour, some animals have been know to run away when faced with a new environment. You need to be vigilant for any stress or unease your animal may experience.
Also, if you are travelling from abroad you need to make sure you have complied with all the rules and regulations of the Pet Travel Scheme. Failure to do this can result in your pet being licensed into quarantine. Not only will this cost you, but could cause undue stress to your animal. |
