There are lots of local walks of varying difficulty starting from the guest house front door. In the village of Grasmere, a short walk away, you will find many shops, cafes, restaurants and the ancient parish church of St. Oswald which contains William Wordsworth's grave. Grasmere is an ideal spot for touring all of the Lake District by car.
