My short break in a B&B in Grasmere
My daughter took a gap year before starting uni in Australia. Fortunately I was able to keep in contact with her via the internet. But as any mother would say - a year is a long time without your child so I decided to meet up with her six months after she set off.
She emailed me to say she had found a lovely little B&B in Grasmere, she was working at a hotel nearby and so she booked it for me.
Although I was only here for a week, I enjoyed the beautiful countryside and could see why it was so hard for my daughter to move on to Europe. Like her, I also fell in love with Grasmere. It is a small quaint village with outstanding surrounding countryside. We have decided to return here for a holiday once she has finished her studies.
