A weekend break in the lake district
Hi
Our holiday was only a short break for the weekend, we started in Bowness on Windermere in a lovely bed and breakfast that overlooked lake windermere, we left home around 4:30pm on a Friday and drove for 4 hours, we got there early evening and the guest house owners were pleased to see us.
The follwing day we walked around Bowness and in the afternoon went on the ferries that take you around a scenic tour of the islands on lake windermere.
Sunday morning we checked out and drove to keswick at the northern end of the lakes, we decided as we had come this far we may aswell go to the last major tourist town.
Keswick was great, we took a rowing boat out onto lake derwent and finally drove up to ashness bridge, a famous look out point for tourists, also appears on many post cards we will come again very soon.
