Bank Holiday Breaks in the Lake District

Currently there are eight permanent bank and public holidays in Wales, Scotland and England with Northern Ireland having ten, these are probably the busiest times in the Lake District so book early. These, however, include Christmas Day and Good Friday which are called common law holidays, as they are not specified by law as bank holidays, but have become customary holidays because of common observance.

Bank holidays here in the Lakes are always busy. It is advisable to book well in advance for these holidays. Most bed and breakfast, guest houses, self catering apartments and hotels have special rates for these holidays.
